EPISODE SHOW NOTES

Ahh. Money. Everyone wants some but most lack the mindset to earn more. In fact, there are retirement-age people still living from paycheck to paycheck. There are countless millennials running on empty after overspending on stuff they think will make them look good. And there are people who claim they don’t care about money — nearly all of them as good as broke.

So let me show you the right perspective when it comes to money. The years I’ve spent as an entrepreneur and the experiences of highly successful people in my network all point to the same conclusion: Your self-worth has nothing to do with your finances. But money allows you to build dreams, learn new skills, lift people up, make smart investments, and spend on experiences that matter.

Money is important because it enables you to make a positive impact and build a meaningful legacy. That means you shouldn’t waste time on a career or business that doesn’t generate the income you want. Instead, consider two or three things that do make money for you and double down on those things. Over-deliver to the people who pay you so that your value increases over time.

We all have 24 hours in a day but highly successful people seem to spend theirs more wisely than the rest of humanity. Do you want to learn their secrets?

Join Markado and me as we discuss the tricky issues surrounding money and how you can create a positive strategy for monetizing the skills you are good at.

In this episode, you will learn . . .

  • Why a lot of people don’t make a lot of money.
  • How to create a strategy that will help you achieve financial freedom.
  • Why hanging out with the wrong people will keep you miserable and how elevating your peer group will help generate wealth and well-being.
  • The four things successful people spend money on that the rest of society don’t.

Question:

  • What’s been your biggest perspective shift on money?

The biggest perspective shift on money for me has been the value of money. I never wanted to be defined by money and never let it be a motivator for why I do things so in my mind that meant that money wasn’t important. After listening and following Peter, Gary vee and a few others and reading a heck of a lot… my whole thinking has shifted to valuing what money can produce. For example, having money means being able to go away on holiday, buying new gear for my photography, filling up the pantry with food… So I’ve been able to redefine what money means, feels, looks and tastes like to me and I am watching it grow as I do so! Love the process. Thanks for the podcast, love it!

Biggest perspective shift about money? That I don’t have to wait until I’m retired at 65 to enjoy financial freedom. That I can pursue freedom now in my 20’s and create amazing experiences if I am willing to surround myself with those playing the game at a higher level, and start to believe that it’s possible now rather than being scared and accepting what society has told me about what it is to be successful. The future is now.

Your talking about comments, I am listening in the iPhone Podcaster and it hasn’t got any comment function. So a link in the description to where you would love to see the comments would do wonders ?.

Anyways my biggest shift has been to be an producer, not a consumer. ?

    What’s up man,
I’ve been following you for about 9 months now, and I came from not being able to have enough money to go through the drive through to get a chicken sandwich, to now setting up my business/movement and learning EVERYTHING I can about online marketing and putting what I learn into mastery and implementation.
I have trippled my income a HUNDRED times now and am making an impact on the world. I sincerely appreciate all that you have done because I learn from the leaders of millennials now and you are definitely one of the best people that I have come across. BECAUSE you are not only good at what you do, but you are a “World Class Human Being” in all aspects.
So Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It’s all because I ran across you, that I got the motivation to achieve my dreams.

    Yours in mastery,

    Ryan Jason Clark

    Hi
I just watched your video, it really inspired me. Now I must take action.

I always thought of money as not important, but the older I get I realized how important it really is.
I am at a time where I have to think twice before I can buy anything, I can’t even give something to my church.

Now I realize that I can get freedom, buy groceries freely, pay my children student fees, just enjoy life.

I must just get tarted now.
